Northern Ireland Seatbelt Surveys and Summary Bulletins The NI Seat Belt Survey has been carried out by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency on behalf of DOE since 1994, usually on an annual basis. Survey data are collected at 15 sites throughout Northern Ireland, six of which are located on rural roads, six on urban roads and three on motorways. Fieldwork involves observing stationary traffic and recording details of occupants such as gender, estimated age and whether a seat belt or child restraint is being used.
Northern Ireland Road Safety Monitors and Summary Bulletins The NI Road Safety Monitor is carried out annually by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency on behalf of the Department of the Environment as part of the NI Omnibus survey. The results outline the behaviour, attitudes and awareness of the general public to key road safety issues in Northern Ireland, such as speeding, drinking and driving, pedestrian safety and driver fatigue.
The Northern Ireland Environmental Statistics Report is an annual compendium of environmental indicators covering 8 key themes; Demography & Public Opinion, Air & Climate, Water, Marine, Land, Biodiversity, Built Heritage and Waste. The report follows on from ‘Our Environment, Our Heritage, Our Future: State of the Environment Report for Northern Ireland’ which was published by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA), formally the Environment & Heritage Service (EHS), in April 2008. The State of the Environment report should be referenced for additional context.
