Approval Notices approve the equipment used by the PSNI for speed detection
and preliminary or “roadside” breath testing. Vehicle Special Orders are made
to allow the use, on public roads, of vehicles that do not comply with the
provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern
Ireland) 1999.
