Freedom of Information - What we publish

Our publications are organised into classes of information in line with the Information Commissioner's guidance on Departmental Publication Schemes. This site is currently being populated.

The information contained within these classes will be retained in line with the Department's retention and disposal schedules. The classes of information are structured within the following categories:

Classes for Cat 4 - How we make decisions

Class: Internal communications guidance, criteria used for decision making, internal instructions, manuals and guidelines
Description: Details of staff handbooks on Data Protection, Freedom of Information, finance, HR, risk management and more
Class: Major policy proposals and decisions and related background information
Description: Information on policy proposals that can be made available to the public without damaging the development of government policy
Class: Minutes of meetings
Description: Departmental Board minutes, and a list of other DOE meetings, summaries of which are available on request, free of charge. Reports and papers provided for consideration at senior-level meetings. Disclosable reports and papers for the listed meetings are available on request, free of charge
Class: Public consultations
Description: Details of consultation exercises with access to the consultation papers or information about where the papers can be obtained. Results and outcomes of consultation exercises are also included
