Transition Management Teams

Supporting and receiving direction from the Transition Committees (TCs), Transition Management Teams (TMTs) provide functional assistance for the changeover to the new 11 councils.

TMTs are responsible for effectively delivering a programme of responsibilities which will create continuous and efficient services from the new councils. These include:

• implementing the staff transfer schemes
  
• establishing a corporate financial management system and preparing a draft budget
  
• developing an integrated IT strategy
  
• arranging the estates and accommodation for the new councils
  
• arranging the transfer of assets and liabilities to the new councils

Transition Management Teams include senior officers and Chief Executives from the amalgamating councils, as well as officers from government departments with functions that are transferring.
