Code of Conduct

Local Government Policy Division has established a Code of Conduct Working Group (CCWG) which is currently reviewing the Northern Ireland Code of Local Government Conduct with a view to making recommendations for a revised code, taking into account the possible need for a mandatory code. The working group will also consider options and make recommendations for monitoring, enforcement and appeals procedure. The proposals are expected to be submitted to the Minister for approval prior to consultation.
