Governance

The aim of the Governance subgroup was to determine a model for the new local government structures, and define clear standards, roles and responsibilities for both members and officers. It ensured an equal system will be in place for shared responsibility in decision making between political parties and developed a system of checks and balances to deliver fair, effective and publicly accountable decisions.

Recommendations to the Taskforce

The recommendations from the Sub-groups represent the thinking of key stakeholders on the key issues, to help inform the decisions of the Taskforce. Consideration of these issues is ongoing at this time.
