Climate Northern Ireland

Success in meeting the challenge of a changing climate depends on the development of actions in partnership across Northern Ireland.  The partnership was established in March 2007. Its purpose is to raise awareness and an understanding of the issues across a range of sectors, in order to prepare for the effects of climate change.

The partnership consists of representatives from central and local government, the business community, the voluntary sector and professional organisations. Secretariat support to Climate Northern Ireland is currently provided by the Scottish & Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research (SNIFFER). Opens in a new window. During 2011/12 it is intended that Climate Northern Ireland should have a strong focus on building adaptive capacity by stimulating, supporting and promoting action on adaptation.

Climate Northern Ireland publish a quarterly newsletter to keep you informed of the latest news.

Further details about Climate Northern Ireland and previous issues of the quarterly newsletter and minutes of meetings can be obtained here.Opens in a new window.
