REACH aims to ensure a high level of protection to human health and the environment from chemicals, substances and preparations traded and used in the EU.

In the UK, the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is leading on producing UK-wide enforcement regulations which will satisfy the requirements of REACH in the UK. In Northern Ireland, DOE is leading on providing input to DEFRA on the drafting of these regulations.

A UK-wide consultation document on the proposed enforcement regulations has been prepared by DEFRA. This can be accessed at the Defra website
