High HedgesProblems between neighbours about high hedges have given rise to a steady stream of correspondence to public representatives, and complaints received have generally centred on the fact that very little can be done at present to resolve the position. The High Hedges Bill received Royal Assent on 3 May 2011. You can view the stages in the development of the legislation here. What Happens Next? The legislation will commence (become operational) when the necessary subordinate legislation (Fee and Appeals) is in place. The Minister of the Environment, Alex Attwood MLA, is committed to bringing this forward at the earliest possible opportunity but no later than 31 March 2012.
