Managing Radioactive Waste Safely - A Framework for Geological Disposal

The long term management of radioactive waste is the subject of a joint consultation issued by the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland, the UK Government and the and Welsh Assembly Government.

Opens in a new window. was promised in the Department’s response to the report of the independent Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWM) published in October 2006.

We welcome your views and comments on the proposals. Specific questions are included throughout the document and are summarised in Chapter 7. Officials will be happy to answer questions or attend events or meetings wherever possible over the consultation period.

The information they contain will also be published in a summary of responses.
