Road Users
Road Safety Division is responsible for
promoting road safety, training and educating road users, producing the Highway Code and developing
policy and legislation.
Driver and Vehicle Agency is the new Agency
formed from the merger of Driver and Vehicle Licensing , which
keeps a record of all those who are entitled to drive, together with a register of all vehicles and
operators entitled to travel on public roads and the Driver and Vehicle Testing Agency
whose key aim is to promote and improve road safety.
The new Agency operates from a number of geographical locations, including 15 combined
vehicle test and practical driving test centres, 2 stand alone centres for driving tests, 6 theory test
centres, 2 enforcement centres, 13 dynamic weighbridge facilities, 5 of which can be operated by customers
themselves, 8 vehicle / driver licensing offices and a commercial licensing office.
