Environment Minister Alex Attwood today welcomed the judgement of the Court on the Bushmills Dunes Golf Resort and Spa.
The Court upheld the planning decision on all grounds.
The Court’s ruling follows the National Trust challenge in January this year of planning permission given for the Bushmills Dunes resort on the North Antrim Coast in February 2012.
The Minister had asked for the full hearing to be expedited and now welcomes this early judgement.
Alex Attwood said: “My decision to grant permission was finely balanced but I was strong in my opinion that it was the right decision on the planning merits. This has now been endorsed by the Courts.
“I am extremely grateful to the Court for the speedy delivery of its judgement and for its deliberations on each of the issues raised. I had requested that the full hearing was brought to a conclusion as soon as possible in order to bring certainty to all parties involved.
“The proposed development which is designed to be a world class golf resort will be major boost to the local economy and to Northern Ireland’s tourism offering.
“I have always said that the economic benefits of tourism in the North potentially knows no bounds”
