| Registration summary | Under the Packaging Regulations, obligated packaging producers must demonstrate compliance through the procurement of packaging recovery notes (PRNs). Only Accredited Reprocessors and Exporters are allowed to supply PRNs. Key points on accreditation:

| Eligibility Criteria | Applicants must have a relevant waste licence, PPC Permit or Exemption. There is no requirement for a waste operator to seek accreditation; it is purely a commercial decision by the applicant if they want to supply PRNs. |
| Regulation Summary | The requirements for and conditions of accreditation for reprocessors and exporters are set out in the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 as amended. |
