Two - Tone Reed Beetle

the Two-tone reed beetle is 8.0 to 11.6mm long, a metallic green or bronze beetle.- the adults are a greenish-gold colour on the upper side, but with a more silvery underside.
- this beetle is found on bur-reeds near to water in summer.
- the Two-tone reed beetle can be found in many lakes in Fermanagh, mainly in the Upper Lough Erne system, and also Armagh and Tyrone, with old records from Antrim
- adult beetles can be found from May to August, with a major peak in June
- the Two-tone reed beetle is associated with branched-bur reed
growing along the margins of rivers, and sometimes ponds, lakes and canals; proximity to flowing water seems to be preferred. - look for other beetles and bugs at Ecos Nature Park
