Northern Ireland species action plans
As part of the Northern Ireland Biodiversity Strategy, a number of Northern Ireland species requiring conservation action have been identified.
A list of Northern Ireland priority species was published in March 2004 and subsequently approved by the Northern Ireland Biodiversity Group (NIBG) in October 2004. This list forms the basis for selecting species requiring Northern Ireland Species Action Plans (SAPs).
A revised list of UK Priority Species has recently been published and the NI Priority Species are currently under review.
At HabitasOnline
(The web site of the Ulster Museum Sciences Division) you will find useful information on Northern Ireland priority species and Northern Ireland species of conservation concern (SOCC).

All-Ireland species action plans
For some species action is best undertaken at an all-Ireland level. Through a partnership between EHS and National Parks and Wildlife Service in Dublin, all-Ireland species action plans have been prepared .
