Priority Themes
All grant applicants must demonstrate in their application how their project relates to at least one of the three themes.
These themes reflect the Natural Heritage priorities set out in the Natural Heritage Strategic Plan and other plans relating to, for example, landscape and biodiversity.
Nature - Biodiversity and Geodiversity
Conserving the diversity of wildlife, geology and landforms
Tomorrow's Landscapes
Maintaining and improving the landscape quality of the countryside and supporting its sustainable management.
Access and Countryside Recreation
Providing and promoting opportunities for sustainable access and countryside recreation
Criteria
Within the relevant priority theme/s, applicants must demonstrate how their project contributes to at least one of the three criteria. Not all themes or criteria will be relevant to every project. The criteria relating to each of the themes are:
Other Assessment Factors
Alongside the Priority Themes and Criteria, we will also consider:
- evidence of the need for the project and its outputs
- value for money
- your organisation’s ability to manage and deliver the project
- the urgency of carrying out the project
- the sustainability of the project
- environmental impact
- how you will measure the progress and success of the project
