Northern Ireland has at least 20,000 historic monuments and buildings constructed of natural stone. A combination of pollution damage and climate change is increasingly destroying these important parts of our cultural heritage. This project extended work already underway in collaboration between QUB and Consarc to develop a database on stone weathering, to assist in the repair and undertaking of remedial action.
The project received £244,837 in grant assistance.
