When are we consulted?
Last updated: 6 July 2010
Planning Service (PS) and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) have agreed on the types of planning application that NIEA should provide advice on.
This is where a proposal could affect:
- an area designated for its nature conservation value
- a plant or animal species protected by law
- an area containing a priority habitat or priority species identified in the Northern Ireland Biodiversity Strategy
- other areas which contain natural features such as river corridors, grassland, peatland, woodland or earth science features
- an area designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or World Heritage Site
- an area identified in an Area Plan as being of nature conservation or landscape importance
