Water Signage Project
John McMillen from NIEA recently unveiled the first of a number of water pollution prevention signs on the banks of the River Enler.
The signs which will be erected at a number of rivers across Northern Ireland are calling on everyone to report potential or actual water pollution on the Agency’s freephone number 0800 60 70 80 (Free phone 24hours per day 7 days a week).
Staff from NIEA are working with councils, angling organisations, community groups and a number of other stakeholders across Northern Ireland to promote this Water Pollution Hotline Number.
The Signage Project was initiated through the Catchment Stakeholder Group (CSG) meetings that NIEA host as part of its ongoing water management improvement and awareness programme.
