Much of the research and development work carried out in these areas is delivered through external contracts and other arrangements. The Scotland and Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research (SNIFFER)
, for example, supports the identification and management of research contracts for us and other member organisations.
The Queen’s University Environmental Science and Technology Research Centre (QUESTOR)
is also supported by us and provides environmental research with an emphasis on technology transfer and commercialisation.
We work with the United Kingdom Technical Advisory Group on the Water Framework Directive to deliver relevant research and a database on research projects
has been developed.
We are members of the Environment Research Funders’ Forum (ERFF)
that aims to maximise the effectiveness of funding for UK environmental science.
We also work with the Irish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
in areas of mutual interest and detail on EPA supported research is available from their web site.
Details of our natural environment research projects and observation activities are available for inspection through either ERFF
or at the UK Environmental Observation Framework
.
