The Neagh Bann District has important habitats and wildlife living in areas identified as needing special protection under existing laws.
These protected areas include:
- drinking water protected areas
- freshwater fish
- shellfish waters
- bathing waters
- nutrient sensitive areas
- water dependent Natura 2000 sites
