Approved products for use with water supply

Information on the use of approved substances and products in connection with the supply of water for drinking, washing, cooking and food production can be found in Drinking Water Inspectorate Information Letter 02/10 (.PDF 158Kb) - Update Arrangements for the Application and Introduction of Substances and Products – Regulation 30 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009.

The DWI (England & Wales) provides a similar function for the authorities in Scotland and Northern Ireland, although the regulatory provisions are different.

Regulation 30 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 allows the use of the substances and products contained in the above document,so a separate list is not published in Northern Ireland.
