MVRUS - Resources for TeachersAny teacher embarking on - and every teacher already engaged in - imparting the Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies course to pupils requires resources. The single most valuable resource is the team of Road Safety Education Officers who operate through each of the Area Boards. Help, in the form of advice or materials , a contact name or address or encouragement, is usually only a telephone call away.
A sample Road Traffic Studies Policy and Schemes (adaptable to the needs of each school and containing a list of resources) and an annually updated requisition list are both available from your Road Safety Education Officer.
Each school delivering a Road Safety programme is entitled to an annual D.O.E. allowance for materials, currently ranging from £130 to £300 depending on the type and size of school. The list which accompanies this "requisition" is exhaustive and includes posters, videos, CD Roms and computer programmes, text books, work sheets and loan items such as videos, engine models and "Resusci-Anne".
