MVRUS - Syllabus
The CCEA  (Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment) supplies the syllabus for the subject area.To view the entire syllabus, view the CCEA Web Page. The syllabus shows that a pupil will be assessed in three ways:
- Practical riding activity .......Marks 30%.
- Investigative study coursework......Marks 30%.
- Written examination .......Marks 40%.
The practical riding activity requires approximately 30% of the total time available and is best delivered in concentrated blocks.
The investigative study involves approximately 30% of the total time available and can be submitted at the end of the first year of study or at the end of the course.
The written examination will test knowledge and understanding of the following six areas:
- Vehicle control & road user behaviour
- Legal requirements
- Road transport and its effect on society
- Motoring Mathematics
- Accident procedures
- Motor vehicle technology
